Death

  • On the night of May 11th 1916, he was on duty with a wiring party engaged in wiring the front line trenches to the left of Hooge. in the course of his duties he proceeded to a culvert, some 250 yards away to fetch wire. On the return journey he was wounded by the explosion of a stray enemy shell.
  • Died of shell wounds in the stomach at n°10 CCS.
