    When bis headquarters were heavily shelled
    and set on fire, he remained behind at great
    personal risk to collect his instruments and
    disconnect the telephone, although he well
    knew that the ammunition stored there might
    explode at any moment. The dug-out blew
    up very shortly afterwardte, and he then
    went to another station under heavy shell
    fire and sent back valuable information to the Brigade' (LG 08/01/1918)
