Death

  • Patrol attacked by 2 Albatros DIIIs; shot down Railway Wood, near Ypres; crashed, between Ypres and Potijze; his Sopwith Strutter A1082 was attacked by the Albatros D.III of Lt Strahle. The pilot, Lubbock neither survived. Another Sopwith was involved in the combat and was shot down by the Albatros D.III of Lt Josef Flink. Lts Bowden and Stevenson did not survive. All four are buried at Lijssenthoek.
