  • Joining the Artists' Rifles in May, 1915, he was gazetted to the Royal Welsh Fusiliers in the following November, and proceeded to Egypt early in January, 1916. He transferred to the Royal Flying Corps in September, and, on obtaining his Wings, went to France in January of this year. Being invalided from the Royal Flying Corps in May, he was attached to a battalion of the Royal Welsh Fusiliers, with which he was serving at the time of his death.
